Ahead of their inauguration on Monday, official portraits of US President Donald Trump and the vice president JD Vance have been made public.
Trump has a small US flag pin on his lapel, and both he and Vance are depicted wearing blue suits, white collared shirts, and blue ties.
Trump’s face is different from Vance’s; the president-elect has his lips pulled together, one eyebrow up, and his head cocked slightly downward. Vance strikes a more casual position, crossing his arms and grinning at the camera.
Trump’s 2023 mugshot, which was taken in Fulton County Jail after he was accused of trying to reverse his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden in Georgia, has been compared to the current photo.
Trump used the now-famous photo to solicit money for his campaign. “Go hard” is how the Trump-Vance transition described the photos in a press release.
Trump’s current photograph is very different from the one he chose for his inauguration in 2017. In the earlier portrait, he smiles widely at the photographer while wearing similar clothing.
