Kenyan Authorities Arrest Suspected Serial Killer Behind Grisly Murders of Nine Women

Collins Jomaisi Khalusha Confesses to Killing 42 Women, Sparking Outrage and Demands for Justice

Kenyan authorities have arrested Collins Jomaisi Khalusha, 33, a suspected serial killer linked to the gruesome murders of nine women. Authorities found the women’s naked and mutilated bodies in a disused quarry. This gruesome discovery came to light after the relatives of a missing woman claimed a dream directed them to the quarry.

Khalusha has shockingly confessed to killing 42 women, including his wife, since July 2022. The police tracked Khalusha’s location using the mobile phone of one of his alleged victims. “We’re dealing with a psychopathic serial killer who has no respect for human life,” stated Amin Mohamed. The latest victim was murdered on July 11.

Evidence discovered at Khalusha’s residence included mobile phones, identity cards, a machete, industrial rubber gloves, and nylon bags. This evidence has incited widespread outrage and protests. Crowds gathered to watch the retrieval of the remains, prompting the police to use tear gas to disperse them, which resulted in running battles.

This incident has placed the Kenyan police under intense scrutiny and added pressure on President William Ruto, who is already contending with anti-government protests that have led to numerous deaths. The Independent Police Oversight Authority has launched an investigation into potential police complicity and failure to prevent the murders. Authorities have transferred all officers at the nearby police post.

Tensions remain high as volunteers continue to search for more victims, and police repeatedly use tear gas to disperse the crowds. Kenyan police have long faced accusations of excessive force, unlawful killings, and operating hit squads, yet accountability has been rare. This incident parallels the Shakahola forest massacre, where authorities found over 400 members of a doomsday cult in mass graves last year.

Human rights groups are urging Kenya’s security agencies to expedite investigations into all reports of enforced disappearances. This latest case underscores the urgent need for accountability and justice in Kenya. The government must quickly address serial killings and police brutality, ensuring justice for the victims and their families. The public demands answers and justice for the heinous crimes committed by Khalusha and possibly others.
