Israel launched deadly air strike on Yemen’s capital and Hodeidah in response to Houthi missile.
It targeted the port and oil facility in the port city. Reportedly nine people lost their lives in this attack. On Thursday, Houthi fired a missile towards Israel. Israeli military claims that it has attacked “military targets” belong to Houthi fighters.
The Houthis are an Iran-aligned armed group based in Yemen. Since 2014 during political uprising, they control most of the areas of Yemen including its capital. This group declared themselves to be part of Iranian-le ‘axis of resistance’ against Israel.
Today, Houthi-controlled media informed, “The enemy launched four aggressive raids targeting the port…and two raids targeting” oil facility. Israeli military spokesperson stated that they had carried attack on military sites of Houthi. He added that it followed the firing missile towards Israel and recurrent offensive over past 14 months.
Moreover, Houthi fighters are monitoring the Red Sea mobility and have a close watch on Gulf of Aden. Under the ‘campaign of solidarity’, they attack shipping linked to Israel and its vocal ally. Now, Israeli ships have to go around Africa.
On Thursday, Houthis admitted that they carried out an operation to hit two “sensitive military targets” in Yaffa, Israeli area. Local news agency reported “The Israeli aggression will not deter Yemen and the Yemenis from performing their religious and moral duty in responding to its massacres in Gaza.”
Meanwhile, Houthi member said that the recent attack on Yemen was no solely Israeli aggression but US was also the part of it. Hussain al-Bukhaiti also said that Yemen was conducting strikes and seizing Israeli ships in the Red Sea in retaliation to Gaza war and would never stop unless hostile regime stops attacking.
In response, Defense Minister Israel Katz said, “I warn the leaders of the Houthi terrorist organization: Israel’s long hand will reach you as well.” He emphasized, “Whoever raises a hand against the state of Israel, his hand will be cut off; whoever harms, will be harmed sevenfold.”
