Jerusalem: For the very first time, Israeli Defense Ministry has acknowledged the assassination of Hamas’ chief Ismail Haniyeh. Israel Katz threatened the similar fate for the Houthis leadership. He made that comment in his speech on Monday vowing to target the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.
In July, Haniyah, 62, was killed while his stay in Tehran in a blast after he attended the inauguration of new Iranian president. He was the Hamas’ overall leader and played crucial role in ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip. Yahya Sinwar took charge, replacing Haniyah and also became Israel’s target in Gaza in October.
In his speech Katz stated Israel would ‘strike hard’ at the Houthis in Yemen and ‘decapitate’ its leadership like Ismail Haniyeh. “Just as we did with Haniyeh, and Nasrallah in Tehran, Gaza, and Lebanon, we will do so in Hodeida and Sanaa,” he said.
The Houthi, an Iran-backed group in Yemen began attacking Israeli ship and launching missiles after Israel began war in Gaza last October. Last week, in the response to hypersonic ballistic missile, Israel launched strikes targeting military points, ports and energy infrastructure in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

Katz added, “We will strike (Houthis’) strategic infrastructure and cut off the head of the leadership.” Israel has attacked thrice in Yemen and vowed to set more on the militant group until they stop missile attacks
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister ordered, “I have instructed our forces to destroy the infrastructure of Houthis.” He told the Israeli parliament, “We will continue to crush the forces of evil with strength and ingenuity, even if it takes time.” Israel boasts about its strength and invite countries to invest in its economy to carry out these malicious activities.
